TAC SLAPS
Artwork and PDF File Policy
Artwork Upload and File Responsibility Policy
This policy applies to every artwork file, logo, design, photograph, document, font, link, or instruction submitted to Tac Slaps.
Required file format
Tac Slaps accepts customer artwork through the storefront in PDF format only. Renaming another file type with a .pdf extension does not create a valid PDF. A file must be an actual, readable PDF that can be safely opened and processed using ordinary commercial printing software.
A production-ready PDF should:
-
Open without an error, repair prompt, password, or access restriction;
-
Contain the intended artwork at adequate resolution and the correct proportions;
-
Embed or outline required fonts and preserve intended images and graphics;
-
Avoid missing links, unsupported effects, hidden unintended layers, or damaged objects;
-
Contain no executable code, malware, malicious links, or other harmful content; and
-
Match the customer's instructions and the proof ultimately approved for production.
Tac Slaps may request a replacement PDF or an alternate production-ready PDF when a submitted file does not satisfy these requirements.
Customer responsibility
The customer is responsible for verifying that every submitted file is the correct file, is complete, is not corrupt, and is a proper PDF before upload or email delivery. The customer is also responsible for maintaining a backup copy. Tac Slaps is not responsible for loss of the customer's only copy.
If a file is corrupt, incomplete, unreadable, password-protected, mislabeled, unsafe, or otherwise unsuitable for production:
-
Tac Slaps may reject, quarantine, or delete the file;
-
The order and all production estimates may be paused until a usable replacement is received;
-
The customer must provide a corrected PDF within the time requested;
-
The original turnaround or requested delivery date is no longer guaranteed;
-
The customer is responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for reasonable additional labor, third-party charges, equipment recovery costs, or other direct costs caused by the defective or harmful file; and
-
Tac Slaps will disclose and obtain approval for ordinary artwork-repair charges before performing chargeable corrective design work, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect systems, data, or security.
Submitting a non-PDF file, disguising another format as a PDF, or repeatedly submitting an unusable file may result in cancellation. If cancellation occurs before proof approval and no production has begun, the available refund will be handled under the Refund, Cancellation, and Replacement Policy. Any deduction or claim for unusual direct loss will be made only where permitted by law.
File screening is not acceptance
An upload completing successfully, an automated file-type check, or Tac Slaps opening a file does not mean the file is production-ready, safe, accurate, or free from defects. Formal acceptance occurs only after Tac Slaps determines the file can be used and the customer approves the resulting digital proof.
Tac Slaps may use reasonable security and preflight checks, but has no duty to discover every hidden defect, infringement, typo, design mistake, malicious component, or production issue in a customer file.
Proof controls production
The approved digital proof controls the authorized layout, sizing, orientation, placement, and cut line for production. The customer must report any discrepancy between the uploaded artwork and proof before approval. Approval waives claims based on visible issues that a reasonable review of the proof would have revealed, except for rights that cannot legally be waived.
Harmful files and liability
Customers may not knowingly or negligently submit malware, corrupted payloads, executable content, or files designed to damage, access, disrupt, or compromise systems or data. To the extent permitted by law, the customer is responsible for direct losses, reasonable investigation and restoration costs, and third-party claims caused by the customer's harmful or unauthorized submission.
Nothing in this policy makes a customer responsible for a problem caused by Tac Slaps' own negligence, unlawful conduct, system failure unrelated to the submitted file, or production error.
File retention
Tac Slaps may retain usable artwork and approved proofs to fulfill orders, support authorized reorders, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and maintain business records. Retention is not a guaranteed backup service. Tac Slaps may delete files consistent with the Privacy Policy and operational needs.
Questions about file preparation may be sent to orders@tacslaps.org before ordering.
